Guidance for Implementation
The Michigan Model for Health™ Program (MMH) curriculum is designed with flexibility in mind—allowing schools to teach specific health topics as needed or implement the full program across grades with fidelity. While it's ideal to introduce concepts and foundational skills early and build on them progressively through each grade level, schools may choose to focus on individual units based on their priorities.
For those seeking a comprehensive approach, teaching the full K–12 sequence without skipping grades ensures a strong developmental flow, reinforces key skills over time, and supports long-term student success. However you choose to implement MMH, consistent, high-quality instruction increases student engagement, maximizes skill retention, and promotes positive health outcomes.
