New MMH Grade Band Structure for Curriculum Licensing
2025-07-28 12:06:00 Curriculum Updates & Releases - News & Articles - Elementary K - 6 - Grades 7 - 8 - Grades 9 - 12

We are thrilled to announce an exciting update to the Michigan Model for Health™ curriculum licensing structure, set to take effect on August 1, 2025. This new structure is designed to increase accessibility, enhance flexibility, and reduce costs—making it even easier for educators and schools to maximize their use of the MMH program.
The new grade band options will be:
- K–2
- 3–5
- 6–8
- 9–12
What’s New and Why It Matters:
With these new grade bands, you'll have broader access to materials across related grades, allowing for smoother implementation of MMH in your classrooms. This update supports teacher collaboration and helps meet the diverse needs of your students. Additionally, it’s based on feedback from health education coordinators, teacher system users, and marketing trends, ensuring that it aligns with what educators need most.
A key benefit of this change is its cost-saving potential. Many educators currently hold multiple individual-grade licenses due to teaching different grade levels. With the new grade bands, most educators will save on licensing fees while gaining more comprehensive access.
What This Means for You:
If you currently have an individual-grade license, your license will automatically be upgraded to the appropriate grade band for the remainder of your license term—at no extra cost. These upgrades will be automatically reflected in your MMH digital platform account by October 1, 2025.
Please see the chart below to understand how the new grade band access will work for you:
Current MMH License Access | New MMH Grade Band License Access |
---|---|
Grade K | Grades K–2 |
Grade 1 | Grades K–2 |
Grade 2 | Grades K–2 |
Grade 3 | Grades 3–5 |
Grade 4 | Grades 3–5 |
Grade 5 | Grades 3–5 |
Grade 6 | Grades 6-8 |
Grades 7-8 | Grades 6-8 |
Grades 9-12 | Grades 9-12 |
We are confident that this change will improve your experience with the MMH program and provide greater value for you and your students.
